Everything seemed like it was going well regardless, up until I was going right in a place with lots of trees and mountains when out of fucking nowhere Cynthias dialog popped up (the one before you challenge her in the league, I think), then a fight started. It was against Champion Cynthia.
I prayed to god the game would handle the battle like I just beat her in the league so she could take me to the Hall of Fame in the overworld instead of leaving me to die in Fake Sinnoh, but that never happened. I couldn't move my character after that, could open the menu I think but wasn't able to use fly. Restarting didn't help, as fly still didn't work and the only difference from before was that everything was pitch black now. Lost my good pal Empoleon and a Toys"R"Us Arceus that day.
