>Northington was laughed out of the scientific community for his belief that myths of an ancient city containing a wealth power actually refer to a source of energy. He aligns himself with the evil team (which funds the industrialization of the region, and as such has amassed considerable political power), so they can fund his research in return for profiting off this ancient energy source. The ancient energy source turns out to be quetzar. In the end, the evil team abandons northington for no longer being profitable (and wasting money). Having lost their influence over the region, The leader relocates the team out of the region, (post game islands? gen 2?)
Please don't let this piece of shit win. What is appealing about having a removed, "For teh moneeze" team behind Northington that does nothing? The "evil political power that just wants money" has been done to death, and then some. And then some more. It presents no interesting plot point, no point of conflict. Where's the danger? Why do they want the energy? Where's the adventure in absolutely any of that? Do we just sort of brush it off? Northington does nothing, then? He doesn't create his own power? He puts no work and is living off of some blank force? We're basically fighting a strawman? Why the fuck is he the main antagonist, then? He's just an admin. If you're voting for this, you're supporting fighting the anonymous corporation that wants energy for "something". Not "I want to find a mysterious and lost location", it's "we, as an anonymous, powerful, faceless corporation, want an energy source."
tl;dr You basically want the plot to focus on politics and money instead of discovery and adventure.
