>>54887192The problem isn't that it's filler, it's that it's filler in a game that already heavily is filled with, well, filler and meandering plot lines with way too much dialogue.
This is just a microcosm of that with significantly more terrible dialogue than usual, significantly more dialogue than usual period actually, around two heavily unlikable characters that the player is supposed to like via very lazy and obvious tropes.
Ren is speaking literal gibberish with a sappy bent to it and Crescent is sharing an utterly pointless backstory that's given far too late where we're supposed to care about her. There should not be exposition dumps this goddamn late in the game, but, here we are, where inevitably at least a few dozen more will need to be given out.
It's just not well written.
