Which was great because it made Mega's seem far tougher then regular Pokemon. But then the Status Quo died and things felt like there was actual hope for Ash to go all the way. People shit on the Korrina arc, but it did really well with establishing how powerful Mega's were, then the Mega Specials built off that to really drive home the difference between them and regular Pokemon. The only Mega which felt like it was impossible to kill, and rightfully so, was Alains Charizard. Beating a Dymaxed mon without dymaxing would help ground the ability back down to earth like what happened when Pikachu beat Mega Lucario. Make Dymaxes feel really strong, but show that even a regular Pokemon can beat them if they're strong enough.
