Honestly, do people even care about Mythical Pokemon anymore? I don't think there's been a single one since Victini that people REALLY latched on to.
The whole concept just feels like it's done out of obligation at this point. They don't do in-game events with them anymore, they don't bother incorporating them into the world anymore. Hell, starting with ORAS you can straight up catch them in the main games now, making them pretty much non-distinct from standard legendaries. It just feels like they gotta pump out a new one every year so that they can justify a new movie.
