Clair was going great for most of it thanks to Wobbuffett, but unfortunately it can only really deal with one really strong opponent, and by that point the rest of the team wasn't doing so well and Donphan died to a crit ice beam. Had a bunch of thoughts as to what replacement it should be, but decided to try my luck and bring an untrained Wigglytuff as fodder. Will got a few spdef drops which was scary and I didn't have anything strictly good against psychic. Gen 2 really isn't that kind to Typhlosion compared to how other gens treat their starters (abyssmal level up movepool), but it did basically solo Koga which was usefull. Bruno was a pushover though if Crobat had missed a fly she'd have died to rockslide. I had wiped to Karen in a previous run and nearly did again if I hadn't gotten lucky with Umbreon's bullshit or sacked Wigglytuff to Houndoom's flamethrower. Lance took a team member down in my silver run and only left one survivor in gold, so I was maybe a little more cautious than I should've been. I think 44 is an appropriate level to grind to before the league and used up my three rare candies on Electabuzz... who outsped and nearly one shot everything. The level 50 Dragonite lived with a sliver of health and I was ready to say goodbye to my favorite member do to a crit Hyper Beam, but then Lance was stupid and used Safeguard... Still got Kanto and Red to beat, but I'm feeling pretty good about this run.
