In post-game, Gengar approaches you because he feels guilty for causing Gardevoir to take part of the curse meant for him for being a shitty kid. The two of you go to Mt Freeze again to ask Ninetales how to undo the curse. Ninetales tells you to go to Murky Cave. At the bottom, you are expected to answer a series of loaded questions in order to "judge" Gengar's heart, but he fails the test. Gengar then admits to his wrongdoings, and that breaks the curse. Gardevoir becomes alive again, but has no idea who Gengar is and he accepts that since it means she's free. Gengar also accepts that he cannot be a human again, gives the player a shitty item, and then is never seen again. She asks to join your rescue team if you want, but has no memory of helping you through the main story either and just assumes you're a random cool rescue team lol.
