That's just the desperate cry of cognitive dissonance. The pokemon universe thrives on glorified cockfighting. Team plasma is the only organization to stand up and say something about it. That alone makes them the best thing to happen to an otherwise dead and dying series.
But no. We can't even have innovation. As soon as we think we're headed in a different direction, the GAME is here to tell us that team plasma is WRONG, even though their arguments are compelling. Why are they wrong? Because, rule of cool, that's why! Keep telling yourselves that your pokemon enjoy fighting each other. Keep believing that they like living in confinement, with a trainer they cannot even communicate with. I only wish I could be so delusional, but alas. I have seen the light and it is terrible.
