it took me about an hour to beat morty. I knew this solo run was gonna start off difficult but fucking hell. if I KO'd his first poke he'd always send out gengar, so I had to set up 6 x sp.def, 6 x specials and 2 x speeds on gastly all the while healing off the curse damage in between. had to pray not to get crit when gengar came out, since even after all that setup bubblebeam was still a 2HKO.
>first loss: KO'd gengar but lost to haunter as a result of forgetting to take into account that the hp reduced from curse was different since marill levelled up mid-battle
>second loss: critical hit shadow ball while gengar was alive
