you guys aren't very in-touch with what's going on in the smogon community if you think it's just "finch/bkc lost to it and now they're angry", not saying it's necessarily a good ban but the use of king's rock fucking exploded during OLT (smogon's big on-ladder tournament) and has won a lot of high-profile games there

i don't really understand why natdex got rid of quick claw too since that's not really a pervasive issue anywhere else but idk who plays that shit anyways
