I think I would've rather used a Tentacruel, but if I did I'd have three poison types and I realize I lack a proper counter to psychic already.
On the other hand Adam was great in the gym battle, I was just really surprised at the special defence and attack power of Bastiodon. I remembered it as a really physically defensive tank without proper firepower.
