I wanted to give this fusion the look of something moldy and soaked in poison that could ambush you while exploring a cave or some temple ruins.
I took some inspiration from the iconography of Oni and their association with liquors. For this reason, Seviper's sword-tail has been replaced by a rattle resembling a mix between a spiked club and a sake flask, which also make it look like the pokémon is being poured from it.
The long, zig-zagging neck is both a reference to Seviper's body and the Rokurokubi, another yokai.
