>>41548919Since it actually doesn't change the abilities/typing of the Pokemon, nor is it restricted, there's no reason why you couldn't have a mon more suited for Maxing other than designated shitmon. Think about Mawile for a moment - there's no reason to Max it over something else like a Galar-Darm, and by not maxing her, you still have Mega as an option for increasing its power.
Besides that, there wouldn't be anything stopping you from running a Max mon beside a Mega Evo. Again, it isn't a question of "which would you rather run" since we're talking about a scenario where you could get both. Either you know this and are trying to argue just for the sake of arguing, or you don't and you've not read any of the post you're replying to.
