OP here. Why are so many people presenting opinion as factual truths. The graphics and animations look fine to me. They're still a farcry from perfect, but they are vibrant and pleasant to look at.
Also, you can't deny that they are adding new features like camping and Dynamaxing. Just because older features are being retired doesn't make the newer features any less valid. It's keeping the game from getting stale.
