Lily pinches her cheeks while hopping up and down repeatedly. She is at the mall. Although she's spending the holidays alone this year, (she doesn't count her parents as company) she figures she can still have fun on her own. That's why she's here, on Christmas, hype up the wall and as bubbly as can be.
All of the toddlers and little kids in line stare at Lily. Compared to them, Lily is a titan, about two times their size and three-four times their age.
It's awkward.
One of the kids behind her tugs at her soccer mom's jacket, "Mommy, why is there a big girl waiting in line to see Santa?"
"I dunno, she's weird or some shit."
