I lost my ability to feel hype for this franchise a long time ago. In fact I haven't feel hype since the beginnings of XY.
When GF started to imitate other similar franchises with "gimmicks" like megas and formes, in a way they were choosing to lose part of what made their setting and universe uniques compared to the rest.
So I wasn't surprised when XY turned out to be filled with lazy practices and full on the pandering force.
I wasn't surprised when the remakes of my favorite region turned out to be rushed and they made a "joke" about not including the battle frontier.
I wasn't surprised when those interviews came out where they explained why they didn't had the balls to give the games a minimum of difficulty and they practically laughed at the fans.
I wasn't surprised when Alola turned out to be the worst designed region and people started finding unfinished content like if the games had been literally treated as an beta test version.
I'm a person with one of the lowest expectations for this franchise, yet here I am to this day; because I still felt that last glimmer of hope.
And here I am today; aghast.
Not even I, even after the alola formes and the ash-greninja, expected something so lazy and underwhelming. This is a new low.
And people will defend it. They always defend it.
