Eternatus has so much to do with Giratina as this last one, based on Loki, is Fenrir's father on Nordics myth. Just to tie, Eternatus is apprehended [so is Giratina] because evil reasons. Whoever releases Eternatus, will obtain enough power to take on Zygarde, Dialga, Palkia and finally Arceus, within purposes as reseting the world, create, dimension control...rule.
Sun and Moon saga was designed as the the peaceful and entertaining calm before the storm, as Zacian and Zamazenta based on Skoll and Hati, chase the Sun and Moon across the sky (follow up).
