It's a shame they are gone but it's not the greatest loss.
Some Friend Areas were better than others as I always remember Turtle Shell Pond and Tadpole Pond having rather rigid collision which made moving around them somewhat cumbersome.
It's why I wanted them back so they could of added more detail and life to them.
It's a shame but at least the artwork looks good as well as using updated sprites.
Unrelated but Buried Relic looks like overgrown ruins now rather than a Wheat Temple.
