Where were you when black and white came out. Throughout the entire story they didn't require any hm moves save for the one time using cut and post game. That was generally considered a great thing. If you're going to force linear roadblocks I'd rather it be like this or black and white than forcing it to take up move slots or even pokemon slots for something retarded like this OP.
