I always felt weirded out by how your rival just casually submits to you every time, how they never seem disappointed or angry every time you crush them despite their efforts.
If they had shown up as the champion in a final rush to finally outdo you, well, that would have been really cool, is all I'm saying.
Also would have pandered to genwunners, which this game likes to do.
