Knowing that the consensus among dedicated fans and series veterans is that HeartGold and SoulSilver (sometimes GSC which is fine too) are the best Pokémon games, and there's nothing any detractors can do to change that.
Of course they will try, they will bring up the same debunked, exaggerated or outright false criticisms they always do, they will whine and cry and make spiteful remarks, they will narcissistically delude themselves into thinking that the majority of people have bad taste, but none of it is ever going to dethrone HGSS/GSC as the premier Pokémon games according to the majority of fans and players that have educated opinions.
And although I want new Pokémon games to be good again, to have heart and soul put into them once more, if Game Freak continues down the path that they began with X and Y, then HGSS and GSC will forever hold their place in series history as the most beloved games. At least there's a silver lining with that - again because there's nothing anyone who wants to dissent can do to change that.
