>>38141338Gen IV postgame trainers seem to fall in a level range befitting the E4 that was just defeated. In D/P/Pt that's 50s-60s with some NFEs before rematches make them evolve, and in HGSS that's 40s-50s with some NFEs until specific rematches evolve them and raise their levels more. I know B/W had postgame trainers that jumped up around 10 levels over the highest pokemon in the story (54) and had NFEs to balance the level jump a bit though their were some fully evolved with that same 10 level jump too (ie Route 15 has a Marowak, Exeggutor, Altaria, and Abomasnow all at 65).
>>38141399Would that apply to gym leaders too? I'm think how far the changes would stretch if gym leaders need to be higher than their surrounding area trainers as part of their character. Going from your example, that would make a gym route something like
>Surge, Erika, Sabrina: close (55-60 leader pokemon)>Janine: middle (60-65 leader pokemon)>Blaine, Brock, Misty, Blue: far (65-70 leader pokemon)In Blue's case he may be 70-75 all on his own since his team was higher leveled than the other gym leaders to sell his character more. After that comes Round 2 E4 who capped out at a level 75 Dragonite (15 levels over Blue's Pidgeot). Would that put Lance's R2 ace around the 85-90 range? At this rate, Red might have a level 100 Pikachu and a team in the high 80s-90s since his highest leveled Pokemon is 13 levels over Lance's Round 2 ace. That'd be a hell of a finale since as is, Red's level 88 Pikachu is already known for being the highest level pokemon for a trainer in the over world IIRC.
