Top fucking kek, I've build and laddered with all team archetypes, and stall is by far the most brainless one to use, all battling knowledge you need is
>does this thing uses special or physical attacks?
and just switch in the appropriate wall, proceed to heal or use status/hazards. On their defense teambuilding does requires some knowledge of the current meta, that is if you plan on making your own team, otherwise just go to smogon RTM and grab the first stall team you find, thats it, even the most braindead sub 1200 shitter can make it to the top 300 with minimum battling knowledge.
HO is not much farther ahead, its basically lead with SO setter and attack-attack-attack, but at least you need to know the right time to switch and what to sac at a certain situation.
Balance is by far the hardest one to play well. From building a team that wont have a crippling weakness to something, to knowing every possible set a mon might be running so you won't lose a would be counter to an unexpected coverage move, it requires a lot more than just knowing the type chart and whether the opposing pokemon is special or physical.
I do think they are all fun in their own way though, just like playing a game on easy mode and curbstomping everything, or playing it on hard and having a great challenge.
