Generally I didn't have to do any grinding except at the very end, right before the Elite Four, my team was in their late 30s and I had to grind to level 45 for everyone.
By far the worst thing about the game however is the PC and limited inve tory space. The game makes you change boxes MANUALLY or else you can't catch new Pokémon, naturally it never tells you when your box is full so I found myself trying to catch a rare mon when a message indicates my box is full. Fuck that shit.
I didn't appreciate having to constantly empty my bag on my PC to make space for new items, and you have to sell or toss many anyways.
