>>23153768"Hey!"
Grashglik looks up, maintaining a sullen gaze and pondering whatever you could possibly have to say next.
"I.. I'm sorry! About everything!" you exclaim. In retrospect, it's an apology that comes a handful of years too late, possibly too late to fix the already inflicted damage within the robot's psyche, but regardless, it's not something that can be left unsaid. It just wouldn't be right. It's not the hero way to just forget something that important and hope you never have to deal with it again, that's the coward's way out.
The droid is left speechless, semi-shocked to hear those words come out your mouth, he was expecting another hot-blooded shounen insult.
"Honest! I was a dick back then, I realize now, but.. I've left that chapter of my life behind!"
A true protagonist faces every obstacle that dares step in his way, and confronts them with determination and the will to keep going in hopes of a better tomorrow.
Even if it doesn't change anything or make things go back to the way they once were, or even stop your own murder, it at the very least shows that you're willing to admit you were wrong, that you have flaws, and that you want to make peace with the enemy and rid of a burden on your back.
"I'm sorry for ruining your librarian life and forcing you into one that you weren't prepared for. I was too much of a dick to turn a simple book in on time, and now because of it, I've completely destroyed you from the inside out! I know this might not make up for the years of obsessing you've gone through, but I give you my most sincerest apologies, and if you still feel the need to kill me to make up for it--"
. . .
"Well then, give me your best shot! "
As if on cue, a great rumbling follows your declaration.
