>>48820947megas also gave you stat buffs you retard, but in exchange you lost an item slot and still needed to win the battle instead of pressing big button and doing the big one shot special move, it's easily the most balanced gimmick but it's only overshadowed because GF gave it to pokemon that didn't need it at all, but at the same time they also gave them to pokemon that needed that buff and that was good.
also some of them did look nice when they weren't just blobs with spikes
