What is a sync?
A sync is an organised playthrough where you sign up, and only play to agreed upon checkpoints and at a pre-aprroved date you all battle one another with your teams then continue on your journey. The emphasis is more on having fun and trying out new teams and ideas. Want to try out that Pokemon you never got to on your first playthrough? Wanna try that unorthodox moveset you've had in mind?
