>>54368350The player character's arc was pretty weak in the story but the tradeoff is that his characterization is also actually really consistent, which is more than 80% of all fanfic characters, especially a main protagonist. I personally found your main guy to be a slightly annoying beta doofus but absolutely nothing is wrong with that from a writing standpoint, it's just not necessarily my personal preference. You're fine.
