>>50149634I'm with you but to be honest I actually liked the early route birds being normal/flying with some of them having the cool type change further down the evolution line. Having the generation 8 line inexplicably be pure flying after like 10 families of normal/flying types just feels like peak game freak to me. There is no reason for it to have a different typing when it looks similar enough to all the others conceptually and design-wise. It's almost like they suddenly realized after 25 years "oh they don't have to be part normal type, whoops" but I don't even really think they were that clever about it. I think it was legitimately just some board meeting will they all sat around and said "let's make this pure flying cuz that's interesting" without any consideration about the implications for all of the other birds they created. And yes this is an extremely autistic I think to bitch about, but it really really bothers me. I can excuse a lot of other typing shenanigans and missed opportunities, but this one just absolutely boggles my mind
