You know what, I wouldn't mind if they ditched the concept of shinies altogether and instead just make about 5-6 different palettes for all Pokemon which have the same rate of appearing in the wild or something like Floette's "formes". It'd make nice variation and effectively killing hacking for shinies. Fighting games have this so it'd be great to be able to choose a color you like for you favorite Pokemon. Maybe they could have one particular color as the "shiny" alongside regular colors so shiny hunters can still do their thing though.
