>>40092796>overthinking mechanicsLately I've been thinking how Pokémon that are hard to train would translate as game mechanics, and today I thought could be how Experience Groups work in-universe; The Slow experience group is mostly populated by predators like pseudo-legends, which supports this fact, though it also includes others like the Goomy and Ralts line. My hypothesis being that they're so trustful that they simply follow orders without actually learning much from the experience.
Both Fluctuating and Erratic would behave moody, with the former growing overconfident with the time, while the later taking some time to trust its trainer. I always imagined there'd be a "language" gap when trying to communicate with revived fossils or other remote Pokémon, like sea basin dwellers, so it fits. Of course, others like Swablu and Altaria would just be too unfocused or playful to be easily trained.
In the end, you can trace some patterns/stereotypes, but the exceptions would mostly be a case-by-case. And I guess I care more about these games than GF themselves.
