It's been pretty useful so far, I used it to beat Bravely Default: The
Airy Lies and Maxed out my money in Y.
The only countermeasures Nintendo would have against this is changing the save format altogether, but they won't break game to game compatibility with unpatched versions 10 year old kids without internet access might have. We'll be able to Pokegen all the Pokemon we want for this generation in X and Y and trade to Z or Red/Blue 3D even if they change the save format.
As far as the concerns about being on a server go, The save backup function works without internet access and project pokemon hackers have already started decrypting the files, making a box viewer.
Pandora's box was opened again.
