Since then it always was Fifa 30XX, mediocre and casual shooting games, some horror- and adventure games and some lesser known stuff of varying quality.
These used to actually be good, like Resident Evil, Tomb Raider etc., but nowadays they are all just money-milking-machines for plebs and kids.
Xbox and PS never actually used to be good, instead they stole stuff from Nintendo and made companies like Sega, Rare, Square Enix, Ubisoft, Activision etc. develop games for them and then grew filthy rich by redoing the same stuff every year.
BF1 did look good, but in the end it was a farce of a historical game, with too few weapons, broken mechanics, more casual audiences and very little variety in gameplay, simply profiting from overhyped nories and disappointed COD-fans.
tl;dr: They never did.
