I got Red for my birthday and a yellow GBC, a kid from my class (1st grade) helped me get started with the game, but forced me to get squirtle because he had charmander and our friend had bulbasaur, leading to him force squirtle in my face.
I would've picked bulbasaur if it was up to me, but i fell in love once he evolved into wartortle anyway.
There's something special about the fluffy tail and those feather-like ears.
