>>houses some of the grandest cities on the planetCome on, your cities are fucking souless. Unless you wanna call NYC "grand". It is not, it's just big and flashy because of wall street money, but expensive clothing stores and overhyped restaurants do not make a city. Many cities in Europe and Asia have existed since long before the US existed and are as a result far more unique and interesting. Many small towns in Europe will have seen entire generations go to fight in wars ranging from as far back as romsn times to world war II. You have monuments, stories, weirdly named streets, buildings built upon buildings as tribes and nations replaced one another. In the US, there is little of that, beyond "we fought in X side of the Civil War" and maybe some famous shootout happened during the wild west years, but that's about it. Not saying the US is boring or that this is somehow a moral fault of its people, it's simply a consequence of being a relatively new country with a large population growth that simply hasn't had the time to have cities where familes have lived and died before jesus fucking christ was born.
