The UB just feels like they are trying to one up themselves. We've met the origin of pokemon, we've met trios, duos, time and space, life and death, and god itself. How could they one up them? By making beasts that aren't pokemon; they didn't need to go big or go home when they could've just had one legendary per game, a bunch of psuedo legendaries, and continued on with branch evolution. Instead, we got... what? 30+ legendaries and gods alongside a bunch of standalone or innocuous pokemon that only exist to fill the dex?
I'm happy that rock puppers has branched evolution as it seems right now while I wait for translators (maybe its the form shit like shaymin; ok didnt like forms with some exceptions), but alola bothers me a bit when you could have unique snow foxes that couldve came into their own rather than just using gen 1 nostalgia that keeps the name but changes the type and stats (when regular/branched/item/trade evolution would be a better excuse imo) while the UB just seems going too far out the box that pokemon has established and expanded over all these years.
