I like Lucifer but it does seem like an odd choice. My main concern is Legendary not being involved since they nailed the world in DP and most designs looked great. My other concern is budget, Netflix isn't afraid to dish out high budget shows full of great CG, but for presumably 13 40 minute episodes of a show I feel like they'll have a lot of filler with humans just talking in a room to save money.
