>>46497934Malva being a part of Team Flare is amazing and would strike home a little bit more if Team Flare in and of itself wasn't so lackluster. I feel nothing from Team Flare, absolutely nothing. I appreciate their plan only insofar as thinking Xerneas, Yveltal, and the eternal Floette are cool, and their plan incorporates all of these monsters to some degree. But the organization itself is whatever.
I like Team Plasma. Trivialize them to Team Peta all you want, their aesthetics, ideology, and dynamic are all cooler than Team Flare's anything. Team Flare is a retread of Team Galactic with cooler looking legendaries. BUT ENOUGH ABOUT THAT.
All of them have 4 Pokemon with 4 moves. Malva's team is pretty lackluster regardless. Even on consecutive "Rematches". Contrast Shauntal. Who even has one of the same Pokemon. Shauntal's set up is just better.
Siebold's team is lackluster. His Gyarados has Dragon Dance and that's nice. His Starmie could be better though. Nothing about his other members stands out. Contrast Marshall. THREE of Marshall's Pokemon know Stone Edge; not just coverage, but coverage with a high critical hit ratio. THREE of them know Retaliate too. Without even factoring in abilities, he's great. It's just an Unga Bunga team, and it's perfect. Cheren should have done something like this.
Wikstrom's team is actually pretty solid. Pun optional. Klefki with Prankster and some hazards, Technician Scizor, Aegis Slash with King's Shield? What more is there to say? Except, "Look out!" if you chose Charizard I guess. Especially in Y version. Grimsley's team isn't as good on paper. I guess his Krookidile could be useful and his Scrafty might be scary if it gets a win. But Wikstrom's team looks scarier.
Drasna's team is underwhelming. Not a single one knows Dragon Dance. These moves look random, and none of the scariest dragons are here. Caitlyn's team is better. Not by much, but it is. Her rematch team is even better still.
