Lucario, Gardevoir, and Cinderace were shillmon who were shoved into every fucking thing to the point people were basically forced to love them.
Incineroar used to be the least popular alolan starter in japan until TPC started shilling the fuck out of it and screwing over Decidueye in the process (he's also the reason why most japanese fans didn't want Sprigatito to stand up in the first place)
Literally the only humanoid Pokemon in recent years that I can think of that got popular in japan without being constantly shilled are Inteleon and Braixen
Unless Meowscarada gets the same treatment as Lucario/Incineroar/Cinderace/Greninja did, it'll likely end up falling into obscurity the same way Delphox did
