>>52447670>I mean, the way you do that glitch sounds like absolte fucking nonsense when you break it down. The internet overhypes these now days, partly think it is zoomies trying to explain why gen 1 was so interesting. Thing is back then you didn't know stuff, you didn't know anything. I remember trying to evolve a Slowpoke by getting a Shellder to use clamp on it, mostly cause I remembered it from the anime. You tried dumb stuff cause you didn't really get that a game has set mechanics. The few lucky to have good internet and were allowed to use it could share stuff but most of us were stuck with the pokedex book.
But it worked cause pokemon was literally everywhere, that seems normal today as you can just go online and find 1,000 pieces of content. It wasn't like that with any other kids media especially not games. If you really liked Mario you had the games, occasionally a show and very rarely some merch. Pokemon was in everything. Kids mags, the news, your cereal had a pokemon toy in it, shitty stores with bootleg merch when you were on holiday. Its kind of like a boybands post The Beatles. What seems normal now is just not how it use to be.
Pokemania can't be recreated cause the skeleton of mass marketing and fandom exists now. Of course everything is everywhere, apart from cereal toys cause the future is lame.
