>>54616773i have a friend like this. she fell off the mainline games around gen 5, became obsessed with GO, then fell in with some small-time poketubers and their videos are now her sole exposure to the mainline games anymore (mainly just shiny hunting tactics or meme-y battle gimmicks). it's so weird being out in public with someone decked out in pikachu clothes/merch/whatever and who identifies as a "harcore" pokemon fan, but who cannot speak intelligently on anything that's happened in the main games from the last decade.
