"Hm..."
As much as you want your hat back, something about Panch's story makes you feel like your gut's been punched in. It's that big asshole feeling, even though this shit rightfully belongs to you, it feels like you're depriving someone else of a joy by taking it back.
Are you an ass?
Yeah, there's no doubt about that, but you're an ass for completely different reasons.
"That ball..."
Panch looks up from his shame.
"?"
"You can keep the ball.""...What?"
This other feeling in your gut is punching you over and over, telling you that this is the shittiest idea in the world and you should just snatch everything and run off like a speed freak.
But you don't. You're being held back by an invisible force of morality.
"Keep the ball. I'm sure your little brother will love it."
Panch look of shame quickly diverges into one of shock, but before it can melt into relief, you have one more condition up your sleeve.
"The hat though... I won it in a contest when I was a kid, I need the hat back. I have too many memories just to simply replace it again, it's really one of a kind."
Seconds pass before ultimately, Panch accepts the offer, "I...understand. I understand. Your hat is now yours once more, doesn't look too good on him anyway, right?"
A) "It looks alright, but he'd look better with one his size."
B) "Yeah, I wear it better.~"
