Ultra is 90% the same game with a different ending, some more Z moves, 2 new ultra beasts, a boss rush featuring cameos of past non-remake villains, and an RNG mini game where you aim for portals to possibly meet 1 legendary / ultra beast out of 7 generations. If I had to choose one to return to I would play the base games, but if I had to play one for the first time I would play Ultra. If I could play both I would play both because this franchise is known for autistic fans and I need to play the differences firsthand instead of playing Ultra and watching the original ending somewhere online.
