>>54882952Moot's defense is flimsy. Pikachu bailing out Ash was lame, but at least Ash & Pikachu were the primary heroes of the series. Friede and Pikachu are 'complete', they aren't the main characters and they aren't aiming to do anything but babysit, so seeing them solve every trouble in the show makes the show feel like it isn't going anywhere.
Horizons is a fuckin' paradox. It both asks the viewer to ACTUALLY take the villains seriously, but also has more babysitters and saviors to rescue the heroes from any threat than ever before. Hell, characters will end an episode in danger, and be safe at the beginning of the next episode. It's dishonest.
But I get it. Moot, you hitched your wagon to this series, and you have to stand by it no matter what. Your obsession with Liko aside, you can't have people falling out of love with this series because it would mean less clout, less views for your GREAT podcast, and less people to deceive into thinking you're some kind of insider. So by all means, defend away. It'd be cruel to take the only thing you have.
