I played Gen 1 and 2 as a kid, then stopped. I wanted to check out Pokémon again a few years ago, so I tried playing Diamond. I liked it okay, but I was playing on emulator and couldn’t resist cheating and speeding up, so I sorta ruined the experience for myself. Diamond seemed pretty tight though.
Then I tried Moon, and man, that game can fuck off. I kept waiting for the tutorial to end and for the game to start, then realized I was in like the third city.
Then I tried X, which also just felt like a never-ending intro. People kept stopping me every 2 minutes for a 5 minute long text-scroll.
I would have enjoyed Let’s Go okay enough if it wasn’t for the stupid way you catch Pokémon. And it was sorta for babies. (I guess they’re all for babies.)
So does Sword and Shield improve on like... any of this shit? I just can’t get into it if the game keeps stopping me for some retarded ass story. I want to fight people more than I want to read.
