>>49366252I was thinking about this last night, but there's a LOT of problems with doing Unova that are completely of Game Freak's doing
>Set the game in same time period-ish as PLA>Dealing with Gilded Age NY up to early 20th century>Trains, electric trolleys, big factories, "Great Gatsby" in the city, rural af everywhere else, could do mobsters and immigrants and all that shit>Or set it in Colonial America>Conflict of "truth and ideals" sounds excellent for birth of America setting>Wide open plains and dense forests, open coasts... Sparse populations but interesting aesthetic>Wait! Could do more recent decade like '60s, '70s or '80s, give it a retro aesthetic, deal with younger versions of characters or their parents/grandparents>Imagining all these weird "extinct" regionals could look like>All these cool possibilities>Remembering Unova has a giant desert in it>Ancient ruins>A medieval castle>Towns that are different based on game version>Also the box legends are dragons>The original dragon which would HAVE to be addressed>And also that comet crashing>Also there are genies?>And the 3 musketeers?>In a region that is meant to be "America"??Fuck was Generation 5 a goddamn mess or what
