I'm not supposed to check fan boards, but schedule is tight and my team is against the ropes with all the executive requests getting more and more ridiculous. Back in the development for Sun and Moon, there was this exec (won't give names) who insisted we gave Mudbray and Mudsdale a rather...inappropriate gender difference. We ultimately convinced him the cost wasn't worth it, though he seemed pretty serious about it. Execs rarely throw jokes at us unless it's to laugh at our social status or minorities. They're very politically incorrect.
Due to all we have to deal with, creative dept is very, very behind schedule. Since the franchise went worldwide in its focus, we must check across multiple cultures to avoid hitting a significant demographic's sensibilities. Several ideas have had to be cut due to similarities with religious or political figures. We were sweating cold when the tan and black mongoose line had to be made blond and given a combover. They were aiming for viral reactions and certainly got them.
So here I am, hitting a wall as I must turn here for a hand... I know I'll regret this, but if you knew the BS we deal with in a daily basis you'd understand why I'd rather take the risk.
We've been instructed to complete the type combinations one way or another. The regional form formula worked well for everyone and we have permission to pick any boring old species and give them a zany spin. So we're starting by targetting all those plain old normal or water types, just like we did for Raticate. Non-water fish worked out incredibly well for the success of Black and White.
Here's the deal: you can suggest for a normal or water type to get a regional form with some unique element, along with a new or rare type combo. For example, a variant of attached pic is part rock type, based on amethyst bears.
Your ideas will be discussed and possibly revised, but we will try our best to stick to the spirit of the viable ones. Any help is welcome!
