It retains the lovable dopiness of the original, continues the line as weird Japanese cryptids (Tsuchinoko to Nozuchi), stays true to the original gimmick (rare yet unremarkable) thanks to the variable segments, and pisses off the people who hopped on liking Dunsparce ironically because they wanted it to turn into something conventionally cool when it finally evolved. It's the evolution Dunsparce deserved, no matter what most people may think.
