>>52194069I wouldn't rush to any conclusions just yet. We don't know how the upcoming episodes are going to play out. Goh could come to a realization at some point that leads to an evolution of his goal and dream. Ash's "Pokemon Master" goal has no clear end point, and it wouldn't take much tweaking to do the same with Goh's.
Idk what to expect from 135. Most people seem to think it's the end of PM19, but a few have suggested it's a recap and that afterward, Goh's PM story will continue (like we had recaps during the M8, before resuming with the matches), and hell, some have even suggested it could be a Chloe episode. I think it could be a Goh/Mew episode, but any of these is possible, imo, because all we have to go on is an episode title, that's it.
I don't believe the anime is ending. I'm pretty confident it will continue on with Ash. Goh, I'm a lot less sure about. I hope he stays, but his odds aren't as good as Ash's. There's so much more that can be done with his character, and they put a lot of work into his background and development, so it would be a shame if he didn't stay. If he does, I don't think he'll take over the primary role. He'll still share it with Ash, but this time, I hope they strike a better balance between the two. Goh's PM arc really got shafted in favor of Ash's M8 arc, and while I feel Ash deserved all the focus and episodes he got, Goh definitely deserved more, and that's part of the reason I hope 135 isn't the end and there's more to the PM climax. Two episodes just isn't enough after the build-up the arc received. And yeah, with PoGo an important part of the franchise now, there are still lots of ideas and gimmicks that could be cleverly worked into the anime and Goh's story.
