>>46399015Because it's easier to control the color of an object by adding shadows to it, not the other way around. Texture is the base color. Any lighting you want to add to that is usually done through some sort of color being added on top with a mathematical formula to achieve different effects.
Choosing a neutral color palette or a warm/cool one from the start is an important choice.
With this game, they said "haha, color theory? Um, I think I know what color RED is, sweaty" and just thoughtlessly freeballed every single texture.
As for picking the colors for the lighting, it's not a complex process, and it's incredibly easy to experiment with/alter. People only think some of this shit is hard because they know nothing about it unfortunately.
>>46399098I'd agree on the outline thing. I threw the pic together in an hour earlier today. There are obvious problems with it, and I'm also colorblind so there's that issue, but I tried making changes to the image to reflect actual workable solutions they could easily implement to fix the art.
Fixing the textures could be as simple as automating a script to filter all of the game textures in a set way, to balance the colors properly into a harmonized palette and fix the value levels. That would be the lazy way ofc. The better way would be to actually make the textures look good with proper attention to detail and care, but this game is not going to get that lmfao. This game is the fucking table scraps you throw to a slave because you promised you'd feed them eventually.
>>46399036What I need is to stop living in this clown world where somehow this game is allowed to exist. Where people are somehow trying to defend it, and when I go to criticize things that are objective (meaning, not subjective) I'm met with people telling me I'm wrong because they are uninformed and delusional.
But you're also definitely right I need some fuckin meds or some help or something.
